Woke up to a “global IT outage”. I just assumed it was hackers again looking for a ransom payment, but looks instead to be some security patch installed on Windows that was apparently deployed by 3rd party tech bros in the midst of an all night kegger. No big deal. It only affected governments, banks, hospitals, emergency services, and airports around the world. It’s being called “the largest IT outage in history”, and instantly put any mistake I ever made at my job into its proper perspective. So my boss definitely needs to chill.

Now I don’t know about you, but seeing how easily the planet can be brought to its knees by a few shitty lines of computer code written by some underpaid Gen Z-er makes me nervous, and forces me to question just how much longer our species has left.
