"The Wind tells me I'm a ghost, but I don't believe it....."
A few times a week my friend Jim Barrett greets me with an early morning text containing screen shots of the latest batshitery from the MAGA-verse. This week's selection included the following....and I quote directly....
"(Trump lawyer) Sidney Powell cited woman who claimed to be headless, time-traveling entity in email pushing election conspiracy theories"
A few days later came this gem...
"Alaska Republican touts benefits of children being abused to death"
My first instinct is to always assume that these are parody. Even though Jim never sends me parody, there's a space in my brain that remains old-school. Submerged somewhere in there is the adorable thought that we are not this casually cruel and stupid. It might only be a flicker, but it's there. So I take a deep breath and google something like "headless time-traveling entity election" and lo and behold, there it is. Big sigh. My hopes for humanity are once again dashed for the day, and I haven't even gotten out of bed yet.
