The Songs - Love is Alive
This is another entry in my ongoing “songs that visited me and decided they wanted to stay” series. I hope you like these enough to become a paid subscriber, because I really need you to keep this project going.
Love is Alive - Gary Wright
Well, I think it's time to get ready
To realize just what I have found
I have lived only half of what I am
It's all clear to me now
Everything that was cool and strange about the 70s is inside this funky little track, including the campy cover of the album itself, which may have been the gayest thing ever until Rush donned tight kimonos a year later. Wright looks like Richard Simmons’ twin brother, and oh to be a fly on the wall in the room when the cover proofs came back for this one. “Maybe some more purple eyeliner? What do you think?” The 70s were an interesting time, Bubba.
