The lint on the floor

Writing about the creative process is, to steal the Martin Mull quote, like "dancing about architecture".

But that doesn't stop me from trying it from time to time. I may have done this before in these pages but I'm not sure. Three columns a week was crazy ambitious for somebody who doesn't have time to write 3 columns a week, but since I'm Irish-catholic a promise made must be kept, or else the guilt will overwhelm me and send me screaming into the arms of the nearest Jesuit. But just know that if I repeat myself, it’s not on purpose.
