"So there I was boarding the plane and standing behind a lady carrying bags large enough to sustain a Mount Everest attempt...."
Back at it after a few days off. It's always nice to get back home again, even if the place you were is deemed nicer than the place you are. There's something about the familiarity of your own space. You're tired, but at least your own bed beckons. A nap? Don't mind if I do.
Truth be told, if getting home requires air travel, you're lucky you made it at all. One hundred things need to go right to keep your schedule. Only one thing needs to go wrong for you to find yourself sleeping on the airport floor.
We were coming back from Florida, a state that received 25 inches of rain the night before we arrived….in less than 7 hours. If that sounds insane it's because it IS insane. That's 6 months worth of rain in the time it takes to binge season 1 of a Netflix show. It was called a "1000 year event"...
Airlines don’t handle any events well. The 1000 year kind REALLY fuck them up.
