Morgan Wallen revisited

I wrote this a year ago. Some of it sounds naively hopeful now. I did think the initial reaction to it all was a bit overblown and I still do. I also thought, however, that it might turn into some watershed teaching moment at least….but Bros are gonna Bro (and country gals can Bro too). Wallen’s record sales went through the roof (in one day his streaming numbers increased 1220%), and despite some vague promises to raise money for black causes that never seemed to materialize, the guy just sorta sat around cashing larger and larger checks and waiting for the storm to blow over. Which it did in no time.
