It’s getting weirder and weirder out there. Wars are still raging. New wars are on the horizon. The White House has seemingly been taken over by zombies. The die-hards are still out there cheering all of the madness on, but their warbling seems a bit shrill all of a sudden…especially if they are nearing Social Security age. MAGA representatives have largely gone underground. The few willing to meet face-to-face with their constituents need their own security detail. Rob Bresnahan is my rep, and he’s so chicken-shit that he’s holding a “Telephone Town Hall on Facebook” to avoid looking into the eyes of everybody he has fucked over. The specter of Elon Musk and his Nazi salutes hangs over everything. Trump is plastering his picture all over the Kennedy Center like a cut-rate Kim Jong Un. The Department of Defense is busy purging things like Jackie Robinson’s service record from the Pentagon website. Chuck Schumer has gone full swamp creature, the face of an opposition party standing on the ring apron holding the towel before the bell rings for the first round. I’m not clear who is more terrified of the MAGA base….Bresnahan or Democrats. What is crystal clear is that neither gives a fiddler’s fart about any liberal base. Not sure how to rectify this. In a nation where trashing a Tesla is considered an act of domestic terrorism but school shootings are, as the current Vice President called them, “a fact of life”, we are in the midst of an Orwellian novel.
