F the Bengals....
Football is back. As a Notre Dame fan I'm very used to looking ahead to next year before Labor Day, so the fact that the Irish are already 0-2, including a ghastly home loss to Marshall, a team they were favored to beat by 3 touchdowns, is not at all surprising. Everybody wants to go to Notre Dame except for quarterbacks who can drop back and throw the ball downfield.....and their offense, which for the last few years has consisted of 2 runs up the middle followed by an incomplete pass on 3rd and 8 that nearly gets intercepted, is the type that might force Touchdown Jesus to become a Protestant. Granted, Notre Dame is high profile and big ratings that make lots of people lots of money etc....but as a result of this they are usually staggeringly overrated. This year they started the season ranked 5th, which Vegas oddsmakers laughed at by making them a 17.5 point underdog against Ohio State, who were ranked only 2 spots higher. But even bloodless gamblers weren't giving Marshall a chance....especially at a Notre Dame stadium filled with 80,000 fans still pissed off about Ohio State. Final score? Marshall 26 Notre Dame 21
It’s why you play the game, Bubba.
