I asked a friend for a writing prompt this week.
He replied with 2 words.
“Mental health”
People are more open to talk about this than they used to be. But there’s still some stigma attached to it. There’s still a bit of toxic masculinity bullshit that oozes to the surface and shuts down large portions of the conversation that we could be having. I’m more than willing to announce to the world that I have the flu or a sprained toe, but less inclined to share that many nights I lie awake in the dark, for hours, dreading things that I have absolutely no control over.
