Saturday night was wild in these parts. For the second day/night in a row savage storms popped up, but this time they drilled down into specific areas. Namely, Dallas, parts of Scranton, and the Abingtons. I drove home from Dunmore at the height of it, and the ride was a bit dicey. It was the type of rain that wipers can’t keep up with. Small rivers were making their way down or across roads. Cars was splashing each other with large waves as they passed. But as I got closer to home, the rain slackened to a drizzle. Turns out the mid-valley hardly got anything at all. I simply shrugged, popped open a beer, and put the football game on.
I had no idea that a few miles away people were literally fighting for their lives.
