Bits and Pieces. Bits and Pieces.

The summer is in full swing, and climate change is currently messing with it the way my cat messes with voles she finds in the backyard. Blistering heat is feeding biblical rains. And then a cold front drops that feeds the kind of storms that prompt you to hide in the fruit cellar. Then everything resets and starts again. For 3 days running last week the world broke its own hottest day ever record. A freak tornado went through Dickson City last week, on a swath a mere 10 feet wide. People across the street didn’t even notice, and never got out of their pool. The capital of Vermont is currently underwater, as that state was hit with a “1 in 1000 year rain event”, which is beginning to sound silly when we read about them every 6 months. But whatever. If these are not a wake-up call for the planet I’m not sure what is. Nobody can say we haven’t been warned, as scientists have been screaming about this stuff for years now. The climate is not like your grandfather. It can’t be swayed by Fox News or Newsmax. A prominent meteorologist in a blood-red state who insisted on calling out climate change during his broadcasts recently quit. He was getting death threats from the trolls who whistle past graveyards. Only in America.
